There are many choices for mechanical keyboard switches, each with its unique characteristics. Logitech G's latest mechanical gaming keyboard, the PRO X, features hot-swappable switches, allowing individual switches to be replaced to suit user preference. There's also an upgraded G604 LIGHTSPEED gaming mouse.
- Logitech G PRO X Hot-Swappable Gaming Keyboard
- Upgraded G604 LIGHTSPEED Gaming Mouse
- Enhanced Customization
The Logitech G PRO series is aimed at elite gamers and esports professionals. The PRO X gaming keyboard is the first from the company to feature hot-swappable switches. All keys can be individually swapped between the company's GX Blue, GX Brown, and GX Red switches, which are sold separately. The PRO X features a minimalist and portable design, omitting the right-side Num Pad area and integrating customizable FN function keys into the Function Key row. The keyboard's key area and keycaps have a matte anti-slip finish, while the edges are piano-polished, which is more prone to fingerprints and grease. The keyboard base has 3-stage angle adjustment and rubber feet, and a classic tri-pronged detachable Micro USB cable.
The PRO X also features LIGHTSYNC RGB fully customizable lighting effects, which can be synchronized using the G HUB software.
Many players instinctively believe that a hot-swappable key design is meant to increase durability, but its primary purpose is actually to allow for tactile differentiation by using different switches for different buttons in frequently played games. For example, using the fastest GX Red switches for WASD movement keys, and GX Brown or Blue switches for skill keys, can help improve operational feel and muscle memory. When changing switches, users must be very careful to pull out the keycap and switch body vertically, otherwise, the small pins at the bottom of the switch might break and get stuck in the PCB.

G604 LIGHTSPEED Power Upgrade
The G604 LIGHTSPEED is an upgraded version of the G602, aimed at MMO RPG and MOBA games that require more buttons. It features 15 customizable buttons, 6 of which are in the thumb area. It also has a new quick-scroll metal scroll wheel that can switch between hyper-fast and stepped scrolling modes. True to its "LIGHTSPEED" name, it has finally been upgraded with a near-zero latency wireless transmission module, and offers Bluetooth connectivity for quick switching between two computers. The sensor has also been updated to the HERO 16K optical sensor.
In terms of feel, the G604 LIGHTSPEED uses AA batteries, making it relatively heavy at 135g, so the drag and fluidity are somewhat average, not as good as the G502 LIGHTSPEED. Depending on user habits, if the ring finger and pinky are gripped tightly to the mouse, it might not feel comfortable. Claw grip and fingertip grip users might find it a bit unusual, but it's more suitable for palm grip users. The G604 LIGHTSPEED excels in having many function keys and also meets the gaming requirement of a 1000Hz wireless report rate and dual-system switching.
