【UNWIRE】【Review】Logitech MX Master 3, MX Keys Wireless Mouse and Keyboard

Logitech's commercial flagship products, the MX Master 3 wireless mouse and MX Keys wireless backlit keyboard, have officially launched in Hong Kong. Both products feature several functions tailored for high-end document application needs. As a long-time user of the MX series, the editor is very much looking forward to its improvements.

MX Keys Keyboard: Quick Switching Between Computer and iPad

Both MX products are designed for professionals, with button design, construction, and materials all tailored for business use. Starting with the MX Keys, the keyboard body is set into a metal base, featuring a silent design that is robust and sturdy without feeling too plasticky. The keyboard has a monochrome smart backlight function; the backlight automatically illuminates when hands approach the keyboard, and its brightness adjusts automatically with the environment. Like other Logitech keyboards, it uses a built-in battery and USB Type-C fast charging, connecting via 2.4GHz or Bluetooth. If the automatic backlight function is turned off, the battery can last up to 5 months; with the backlight activated, it lasts about 10 days.

The keyboard can be pre-paired with three computers and iPads for quick switching, with functions configurable via the 《Logitech Options》 software. By connecting via Bluetooth or the Unifying USB receiver, you can easily switch between different computers or mobile devices with a single button. The top right corner of the keyboard has three buttons labeled "Device 1" to "Device 3". For instance, if you're typing on a computer and suddenly need to switch to an iPad, this function is incredibly convenient.

The keyboard supports both PC and Mac. When I connect the MX Keys to a Mac, the Option and Command keys automatically adapt to the unique macOS layout. Furthermore, the keyboard is marked with applicable keys for both Windows and macOS. The function keys are similar to the MacBook layout, making it very convenient to control screen brightness, keyboard backlight brightness, and multimedia operations.

MX Master 3 Mouse Offers Enhanced Tactile Feel

The Master mouse, another key product in the MX series, has always been favored by professional designers and business users. The ergonomic design of the MX Master 3 wireless mouse naturally conforms to the hand's curve, improving palm support for the right hand to prevent fatigue during prolonged use. The mouse uses a Darkfield 4,000 DPI sensor, claimed to adapt to any surface, including 4mm glass, offering 3 times the speed and 5 times the precision of ordinary mice. The mouse can be fast-charged via USB Type-C, and its built-in battery can last for 70 days on a full charge.

Scroll Wheel Design Suitable for Both Scrolling Speeds

Another noteworthy feature is the scroll wheel of the MX Master 3 mouse, which now features a special metal design, offering superb quality and feel. The scroll wheel uses electromagnetic sensing, making it easier to scroll. While previous MX mice had separate modes for infinitely fast scrolling and incremental scrolling with a tactile gear feel, Logitech has now combined these two modes. When I'm meticulously scrolling through web data, I can scroll slowly, increment by increment. However, with a little more force, this gear effect temporarily disappears, switching to an infinite scroll mode, which is very useful for long documents. However, it takes a little time to get used to it after purchasing.

Similar to the MX Keys keyboard, the MX Master 3 wireless mouse can connect to up to 3 devices via Bluetooth and Unifying USB, allowing for one-button switching to control different computers or mobile devices. In conjunction with the 《Logitech Options》 software and the dedicated 《Logitech Flow》 switching technology, users can seamlessly control two computers with the MX Master 3 wireless mouse, performing copy and paste actions or transferring content between computers. The mouse even features gesture controls, allowing custom button assignments for commonly used applications such as Adobe, Google Chrome, Safari, and Microsoft Office software.
