Racing games are very popular in Hong Kong, and to enhance the gaming experience, many players buy a gaming steering wheel to replace the keyboard or gamepad. Today, Logitech announced the new G923 TRUEFORCE gaming steering wheel, featuring the exclusive TRUEFORCE feedback system. This system samples from the game's physics engine or audio, accurately reflecting changes in game scene textures on the steering wheel, providing the most realistic vibration feedback.

The G923 consists of a steering wheel and pedal set, supporting PC, PS4, and the yet-to-be-released PS5 platforms. Its appearance is quite similar to the older G29, constructed from aluminum and steel with brushed and polished finishes. It also features a stitched leather grip and stainless steel paddle shifters, offering an attractive look and a professional, responsive feel. The selling point is the TRUEFORCE system, which differs from other steering wheel feedback systems. While standard steering wheels provide varying resistance and vibration based on the in-game vehicle, the TRUEFORCE system processes the game's physics and audio engines up to 4,000 times per second. This data is then fed back through the steering wheel, using vibrations to simulate subtle changes like engine vibrations or driving over different road surfaces, providing players with the most realistic in-game experience.
Logitech also invited professional racing driver Jerry Yu to introduce the advantages of the G923. He explained that in real driving, drivers perceive road conditions through visual cues, as well as sensations in their hands and back. In gaming, to get this information, players can only rely on feedback from the steering wheel. Jerry even likened it to "communicating with the game." Compared to other steering wheels, the G923 with the TRUEFORCE system provides more detail, such as the texture when driving on grass or the optimal timing for gear changes, all reflected in the steering wheel. This more realistic experience allows players to control the car more intuitively. In addition to the steering wheel, the pedals have also been upgraded with new progressive springs, simulating the launch assist function in real racing – launching from the starting line with maximum traction and minimal wheelspin. Jerry noted that because the pedals are closer to those in a real car, he can use actual racing techniques to gain an advantage while playing.
